News Core Golf’s Jordon Duffy second at Inverrary East Open

Placing second at the Inverrary East Open this past weekend is another feather in the cap for Core Golf Junior Academy student Jordon Duffy and Director of Instruction Sean Foley.

ORLANDO, Florida (February 24, 2009)—Placing second at the Inverrary East Open this past weekend is another feather in the cap for Core Golf Junior Academy student Jordon Duffy and Director of Instruction Sean Foley.

Duffy, 19 of Calgary, Alberta was one of five Core Golf students to finish in the Top 20 of the Future Collegians World Tour event on the East Course at Inverrary Golf Club in Palm City, Florida.
With an opening round of 75, Duffy tied overnight leader Ryan Henry of Weston, Florida, for the most pars on Saturday with 13 apiece. Duffy fired a second-round 72 to finish  three strokes behind winner Andrew Goodman of Palm City, Florida.
“It was sweet. My coach Sean Foley and I have been focusing on the details, and it came together for me this weekend,” said Duffy, whose other top five finish this season was a second at the World Woods Rolling Oaks Open in October.
Duffy led four fellow Core Golf Junior Academy students in top 20 at the Inverrary East Open: Sam Jackson of Toronto, Ontario, 11th;, Kyle Sayani of Toronto T15; and Brad Brown of Collingwood, Ontario and Luke Ovenden of Georgetown, Ontario, were T18.
Ovenden, 18, thrilled the crowd with a hole in one on the 15th hole on Saturday.
“We’re all proud of Jordon, and Luke’s Ace on the 15th was a big moment. All of our students entered at Inverrary had a strong showing,” Foley said.
“They’ve been working hard and they’re seeing the results.”
Led by PGA Tour coaches Sean Foley, Dr. Craig Davies and Neale Smith, the Core Golf Junior Academy in Orlando, Florida provides intensive instruction, coaching and private education for young golfers who are determined to fulfill their dreams on and off the golf course.
