Jordan Duffy, a student at the Core Golf Junior Academy, played his way into an exciting playoff in a Future Collegians World Tour event in Florida this past weekend.
Duffy, 18, of Calgary shot a two-under 70 on Sunday to tie Tim Gornik of Ljubljana, Slovenia, after 36 holes at World Woods Golf Club in Rolling Oaks, Florida. On Saturday, Duffy shot 71 while Gornick shot rounds of 67 and 74 for a three-under 141 total.
They both parred the first playoff hole, in which Gornick made an improbable recovery from a green-side rock garden. Gornick made a birdie to Duffy`s par to win the event on the second extra hole.
Duffy is attending the Core Golf Junior Academy in Orlando, Florida for the second consecutive year, this season as a post-graduate student.
